Two Excellent Country House Hotels

in Hotel

The hotels are an experience in and of themselves, as they have many activities and different ways to relax. On top of all of that, however, the feel of the places is something that cannot be matched. They all have a rich elegance to them that will make one feel as if they are not staying at a hotel at all, but rather staying in a home that is owned by rich friends. This can make for a very interesting and comfortable time, without all of the usual stuffiness and repetition of a standard hotel.

One of the best country house hotels is the Isle of Eriska Luxury Hotel and Spa. This hotel will give one a satisfying sense of living in an older age, as it was built in the late 19th century, and maintains much of that flavor into the present day. The library is an excellent place to sit and read, with all manner of old books on the shelves for the intellectual visiting the island. There is a wood-burning fireplace that casts the sort of light and shadows that only a real fire can, giving the rooms a cozy atmosphere. For those who want more activities, there is a pool, tennis courts, a golf course, a clay pigeon shooting range, and, of course, the spa. With steams rooms and a sauna and all manner of other treatments, this is one of the most relaxing things about the hotel. The other is the fact that it is a private island, so one is not surrounded by tourists and noise, but is free to live on the island as the estate's original owners must have lived so many years ago.

Another great place to stay is the Bovey Castle Luxury Spa and Golf Hotels Devon.

As the name suggests, this hotel is located in what used to be an old castle, which gives one a feeling of being pulled back in time to a more astounding age of courtly grace and wealth. The fully-stocked bar has long, crimson curtains and cushioned chairs for seating, making it a very comfortable place to relax and have a drink at the end of the day. The golfing is, as is again suggested by the name, tremendous, with challenging holes for the experts and easy enough greens that anyone can enjoy them. The front view of the castle itself is breath-taking, with wide open lawns and stone steps that lead up to the stretching stone face of the castle itself. For those who love golf, this is the perfect place to stay, though the castle has more than enough to offer those who are not into the sport.

These are just two examples of the beautiful luxury hotels that are part of the PrideofBritainhotels.com  group. There are many more, and all are worth looking at.

I stayed at the Isle of Eriska earlier this year and I can truely say that it was one of the best weekends away I have had! Being on a private island added to the experience and getting to see the badgers who came to feed at the Hotel at night was such a treat. Definately would recommend to anyone!
